PJMC held its 2006 Winter Series over three rounds during October. This traditional event is always a great series with many riders upgrading to their new groups.  With some fantastic trophies on offer courtesy of Washbrook Farm Motocross the riders had everything to go for. The first round saw perfect weather conditions whilst round two and three saw very changeable conditions making for some challenging riding.

The automatics saw some great racing between Troy Willerton and Thomas Brown. Troy won seven of the races and Thomas took the other two race wins and they finished the series one and two respectively. Young gun James Camwell rounded his year off with a superb third place overall with string of thirds and a second place.

In the Junior 65 class it was Max Hind who finished the series off on top with 5 wins and three second places. Charlie Buttriss kept his cool for second in the series closely followed by Ross Stout who put some great rides in. Two other riders must get a mention, wet weather maestros, Rob Yates and Rob Davidson who pushed winner Max Hind all the way, both taking race victories but not qualifying for the overall series.

The Small Wheel 85’s saw the battle continue between Jordan Hind and Rob Nicoll. Close racing saw Jordan take overall victory with four wins and four seconds to Rob’s three wins and two seconds. Never far behind were George Redhead and Jordan Jugg who both turned the style on it the wet conditions to take a race win each.

In the Big Wheel 85’s Lee Goodfellow cruised to overall victory with eight wins from nine races with some great riding. Sam Barney pushed hard all series to take a well-deserved second position in the series. Showing exceptional skill in the wet race and the only other rider to score a win was Ben Rollinson in third overall. Billy King and Mark Sharman both deserve a mention each notching up some second and third places along the way.

The Schoolboy 125 was won by Ashley Moulds on his KTM with one race win and a string of second places. Second place went to newly upgraded Sean Satchwell, which was a brilliant result for his first attempt on a 125. Aaron Rayner rode well and did enough through the series to take third place. Two other lads must get a mention, Craig Bryber (3 Wins) and Lewis Kerr (5 wins) who were dominant when present, but did not complete the series.

Finally, the adult group saw Matt white dominate the class with eight wins and a second place. He was followed home by Kevin Lancaster and Richard Chapman who both battled hard all series. Matt Woodard surprised everyone with a last race win in the wet. Someone forgot to tell him the conditions were atrocious as he pinned it all the way for a convincing win!
